saber-MSK

^^Big ups to Saber-AWR,MSK  One of his older throws was seen on the movie- Rush Hour. As Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker drive past the capital records building in downtown Hollywood you catch a glimpse of this huge MSK billboard throw. If I might add, this throw was also seen on a commercial for the LA marathon.

mear-WCA

^^Much props to Mear-WCA(formerly of CBS) who has done a number of comissions. Mear is one of LA's most prolific writers, and well deserves a spot in my fame section. All up and down melrose you can see work he has done for different stores such as Workmens Outlet, Beat Non Stop, Yolandas, work in some of the past galleries, as well as other comissions with his former crew. some of his other work includes: work for ConArt, the Power106 ice cream truck, the album cover for the band Downset, and the new cover for Limpbizkit's album, background scenes, along with other artists: ManOne, Asylum, Toonz...etc. for the LA play: "I Was Looking At the Ceiling, and then I Saw the Sky." (seen on Graffiti Verite). Mear also had a little bit of work shown on the Usher video, and I believe Mear's work was also seen on MTV's Music Sports Festival. I think some of Mear's best graf was shit he rocked with FX Crew when he was in New York, Seen on Paint My Face.

ozie

Ozie-YR(formerly known as Hawk-YR) recieved South Cali's attention after his story went mediawide. Ozie was painting a pilar of the Mulhallond Drive overpass on the 405, when somehow he fell. There is a big debate on how Ozie actually fell, so im not going to get into that, but he did fall, about 150 feet onto a grassy edge of the freeway, later to be found by a motorist. this story was aired on almost all the major news channels, and was printed in the LA times. This is when I feel it became really known what these LA kids have been doing. Heaven bombing has been going on for about 6-7 years, but Ozie made it known, big time! Ever since then it seems LA has been getting more into what 50mm calls "stunt graffiti" with the reign of Ayer, and some others to follow about the same time, or right after Ozie's accident, like Revok, and Zes, Use..etc. Today, I see a lot of heavens constantly getting bombed, and Caltrans trying to put us down, hating writers for doing it. I mean, does it really matter if the bridges, and the back of freeway signs are bombed? its better looking then the dull grayness thats there, and it gives motorists something to look at when they're stuck in rush hour traffic!...Think about it. 50MM already has this story up, but found it interesting, so fuck it...i put it up too.

Saber did this amazing piece on the LA River. It took him a year and a half to complete. It was done with rollers, and you can see it from the air. It is one of the two largest illegal pieces ever done (that we know of) This was 850 ft long by 80 ft wide, painted at night over a period of six weeks. Saber worked on it so long that one of his knees was injured from standing on the slanted riverbank.

robone.jpg

DJ Rob was one of L.A.'s marquee hip hop DJs as well as a talented graffiti artist. He headed up a radio show in the beginning of the 90's called the FLY ID show. His popularity grew from there. Also a member of CBS he bombed up the late 80's and 90's with his homies SK8 (r.i.p.) and MEK

ayer01.jpg
ayer

This page is dedicated to Ayer-LTS,KOG,YR who took his life earlyier this year. Ayer went out like a true king at only 17 years old. Ayer, who also went by the names of Air, Ayes, and Ayir. Ayer recieved mass recognition from writers all over Los Angeles, and i believe, influenced an all new style upon many LA writers. I never knew Ayer, but he was a major influence on myself as well, with his multicolor, and abstracted throws. He "Lived To Stun" others with some of the places he chose to paint. Throughout LA you can still see some of his artwork up high on bridges, rooftops, window ledges, and billboards, along with some of his other collegues: Zes, Revok, Jrock, Use, etc....sometimes even i look at a spot ayer painted and wonder...how the fuck did he hit that spot?!! Ayer showed true dedication to his work, and wont ever be forgotten.
